JACKSON, WYOMING

I was pregnant with my second child. My oldest was only 3 months.  I was sick .. so sick .. like miserably sick. And to top it all off every medication known to man had some “risk” to the baby. You see, I had grown up in a pretty traditional, non homeopathic environment (think antibiotics every time you’re sick and fruit roll ups as your afternoon snack). Couple that with my nursing and anesthesia training that led to any type of homeopathic or “all natural” remedy as a “no go” for me. It wasn’t that I didn’t believe in it ... it just wasn’t for me! People in my field of medicine make fun of the homeopathic types so obviously I was not going to dapple in essential oils (duh)! Until … I needed help that western medicine couldn’t offer. Hear me please, I STRONGLY believe in the power of western medicine. I work in it & credit many lives saved because of it. However, my perspective started to shift when I needed something to support my immune system & there wasn’t a medication for that. Again, I was eating healthy and exercising regularly so that clears that up :) When I initially asked my husband for essential oils, he refused to let me purchase them (not kidding). So, I asked my mother in law for them for Christmas (there’s always a way!) And when I opened that little box with 11 oils my perspective on health changed drastically! Before I started using oils I had this idea that I was already doing all I could to be healthy & the rest was just up to chance. I thought eating healthy and exercising was enough. The thought of hormone disruptors in my bloodstream or oxidative stress was just laughable to me as I couldn’t figure out a way to realistically fight against it. It was expensive, it was overwhelming, it was annoying, everything was killing me (or so I thought) .. so I just simply ignored it. Ignorance is bliss .. until it catches up with you. I’m not claiming that by using Young Living products you can prevent cancer and cure every ailment you have. Some things are just unpreventable. I am claiming that you can have peace of mind about what you ARE doing and you can become proactive in your health. I am claiming that these products have a beneficial place in your life. I will stand by the idea that Young Living really IS THE BEST product on the market, whether it’s oils, Ningxia Red, make up, or cleaners. My story isn’t finished .. I’m still learning & you can learn with me.

It took me two whole years to take the plunge into essential oils and natural products. I was pregnant with my fourth child and my Ultrasound Tech told me she was diffusing essential oils in her office when I asked what the awesome smell was. I had no idea of the emotional support that she was providing to her patients through her diffuser. It was two whole years before I was ready to try and see if essential oils really worked. 

News articles about harmful chemicals in household and beauty products kept catching my attention. Ingredients became a focus for me and specifically, chemical fragrances began to worry me. Everything seemed to be filled with smell good fragrances that companies were not required to disclose on the ingredient labels. I got to a point of super frustration. I’m sure you’ve been there. As a family we needed help with sleep and immune support. I personally needed help with balancing my emotions.  

 This poor mama was raising four kids and working a full time job with no options for supporting her mental health. I’m a counselor (and know allll the coping skills) and I was still struggling with my changing hormones and fluctuating moods. Our family needed help and I was willing to take a chance on oils. 

Young Living made it so easy for me as a mom to get everything I needed in one place from a company that set really high standards with their sourcing, offering clean ingredients that far exceed organic standards, and I was sold on their ethical responsibility as a company to create products that are truly good for our bodies. 

Now, several years down the road, after replacing one product at a time, our family has been so blessed. Blessed financially with additional income, blessed with better health because of the products we choose to use within our home, and honestly blessed with a mom who has peace of mind knowing that she is doing the best she can for the ones that mean the most to her. 

My passion in using oils and natural products is focused on mental health. Overloading our bodies with synthetic chemicals that aren’t easily broken down by the body can over time can cause a buildup of toxins that (gasp!) have a huge effect on our ability to be emotionally healthy. Treating our bodies kindly with clean products and essential oils that work in rhythm with our natural body systems can change our lives.

I am a mom of three littles born in three years (currently ages 1, 2 & 4), wife and secondary teacher. When it comes to my oil story, I had been using and bumming essential oils off of my mom the better part of 10 years before getting my own starter bundle in 2016. The main reason I wanted my own starter bundle was because I was tired of asking my mom to order for me and I wanted to explore more of what Young Living offered. The main reason why I have kept using Young Living goes back to 5 months after I got my oils when I became pregnant with my first baby and realized that I was now not only responsible for myself, but another human being as well. Pregnancy was an eye opener and really made me start thinking about what I was putting both in and around my body and what I was going to put in and around the body of my new baby. When I started to research, I dove deep into what made Young Living different and was astounded by not only their purity, but also the variety of products offered and the ease that Young Living provided to me in a one stop shop for products including everything from personal care to home care. I began exploring the business side of Young Living once I realized that I wanted to use these products throughout my home for the rest of my life, and if there was a way I could also get those products paid for, I was game! This business has grown my confidence, my resilience, my ability to question and research and given me one of the best communities I have ever imagined! I can’t wait to see where the future of this business takes me and my family and I can’t wait for you to join me!
